BeyondTrust supports the distribution of Apple iOS configuration profiles so that support engineers can offer iOS users the ability to download public and private administrator-configured profiles to their iPhone®, iPad ™, and iPod touch®.

To ensure that configuration profiles are downloaded to the iOS devices over an encrypted HTTPS connection, you have to check the box Force the public website to use HTTPS on the website Administration> Security mark the administrative interface / login. Otherwise profiles will be downloaded over unencrypted HTTP connections.

To manage Apple iOS settings, you must use an administrator account. To create or modify Apple iOS configuration profiles, you need user account rights Allowed to edit iOS profiles. In order for a support technician to grant customers access to private configuration profiles, he or she needs the authorization Allowed to create access keys for sending iOS profiles. Select in the / login administrative interface Users and Security> Users and or Group policiesto change account permissions.

After you've set up and exported a configuration profile from Apple's free configuration application for iPhone, use the / login management interface in BeyondTrust to make the profile accessible. You can find the configuration application for iPhone on the Apple iPhone support website.

Surname

Create a unique name to make this profile easier to identify. The name of this iOS configuration profile should help the user choose the correct profile when navigating your support portal.

Upload the Apple iOS profile that you created using the iPhone configuration application. Note that the underlying Apple iOS profile needs to be adjusted in order to change the contents of the iOS device profiles that you want to distribute to users with iOS devices.

Add a brief description to summarize the purpose of this policy.

Public

Miss the box Public with a check mark so that the profile is visible to every iOS user when browsing your support portal. Note that iOS users will not see a support technician list or a problem contact form when they go to the public portal.

If you check the box Public If you do not activate it, you can restrict access to the iOS profile you have created. To download the private profile content, users must use the d. Enter the access code provided by the representative.

Settings

Select a public website to edit

From the drop-down menu at the top of the page, select the public website that you want to configure settings for.

Link to iOS configuration profiles activated

When enabled, customers on iOS devices will see a link to the iOS configuration profile portal when they access the public website. All available public profiles are displayed on this page. There is also a text entry field in which customers can enter an access key that they have received from their support technician, whereby the customer can access a personal configuration profile.

Email invitation

When a representative has an Apple iOS Profile Access Key using the console d. If the representative is generated, the access key can be sent to the iOS user in an email.
